Anthropic will pay to train 10,000 Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs)
The bottleneck in corporate AI is no longer the model, it is people who know how to install one, and Anthropic has put $100 million behind fixing that. The company launched Claude Frontier Academy on October 2, 2026, aiming to train 10,000 "Frontier Deployed Engineers" by the end of 2027 using a medical-residency format of in-person instruction, graded assessments and a 12-week supervised deployment. First cohorts are drawn from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk, with training running in San Francisco, New York and London.

Sanders bill would tax AI firms to fund citizen payouts
Senator Bernie Sanders introduced the American AI Sovereign Wealth Fund Act, proposing a one-time 50% tax on the stock of AI companies generating more than $200 million in annual AI-related revenue, with proceeds flowing into a projected $7 trillion sovereign wealth fund that would distribute roughly $1,000 annually to eligible Americans. The bill targets companies including OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI. Former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon publicly echoed the proposal, stating the government should force AI companies to surrender 50% of their equity to be dispersed to American citizens.
